Very rarely, the emulator will work just fine (actually, only after rebooting, or logging out/in with my Windows profile) but most of the time, it'll start off fine, but then slow down to a crawl, with sound stutter/echo on top. After checking the task manager, I noticed the Xebra process starts off normally, uses like, 4 percent of the processor resources, but the memory usage keeps going up, usually around 240 kB per tick, until it reaches 125 to 150 MB. At that point, the processor usage jumps to 100% of the core, and the game starts lagging... It's really sad, because Xebra is and has been my favorite PlayStation emulator for a while now, when it works, that is... My PC is more than decent, and it should have no trouble at all running Xebra (2nd gen Core i7 with 16 GB of ram, Windows 7 x64 if that helps) Thanks in advance! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm really desperate

How to make Xebra work Have you changed any Xebra settings from the default? Have you tired using the task manger and setting Xebra's affinity to only one core? What BIOS are you using? What games are you experiencing the issue with? Also list region of the games. I'm not having any issues with 3570k/GTX670/8GB RAM. |

I'm using the default settings but any setting does it. Yeah I tried setting affinity to 1 core I'm using SCPH1001 renamed as OSROM, but ARBEX does it too, even without a bios ![]() All games do it, with as far as I know, every type of image file type. I tried with NTSC games only (US and JP) Like I said earlier, the emulator works fine on the first run after a reboot/logoff, as long as I keep the emulator open, it works, i can change disk, reset it, it's all fine (Using this as a workaround, kinda annoying). As soon as I exit and reopen the emu, it does it (only after the bios logos) I'm on Win 7 SP1 x64, with an i7 2600k / HD 4870 / 16GB Ram (No overclocking going on) Oh and I tried exiting every other program I didn't need in task manager, doesn't make a difference, disabling my antivirus software and compatibility modes don't help either. Thanks for your reply btw

I was having driver related issues with the 4850 and some old PC games so I removed it and went back to my old 7900GS. The 7900GS performed better with emulation and the drivers as a whole felt more solid. The above factored into me getting a GTX670 with my new PC instead of a HD7970, AMD are just terrible with their drivers at times. Try disabling the HD4870 and using the integrated graphics of the 2600k and see if the issue persists. |

Sadly my MB doesn't support the IG as I got the CPU for its overclocking capabilities only, but I could try rolling back to older drivers/windows default drivers... And I have to agree that Amd and Ati go so well together, since they both have compatibility issues compared to Intel and Nvidia.

Try Catalyst 13.1 if not using it already. 12.4 was the last good driver release, when I was using later driver releases up to 12.6 I encountered a lot more issues. Apparently AMD did some tweaking resolving some issues but creating others in the process. |

It didn't help ... I just don't understand how a memory leak can happen only when the software is run more than once ... Maybe some dependencies, like the .NET framework or Java? I don't know if Xebra has any though.

Are you running any anti-virus software? If yes disable it while using Xebra. If you have the know how reformatting your PC, re-installing Window 7 and testing Xebra before installing each piece of software may help you narrow down the offending software. Since the rest of you computer is still very decent consider upgrading the GPU at some point. |

I've tried disabling the antivirus, but I suspect it might still be Bitdefender, it has a history of incompatibilities now that you mention it. I know about the GPU, yeah... I'm considering an MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC Twin Frozr III, but it's a big investment... Any clues if it will get Dolphin and PCSX2 to run smoother? I can see myself buy a new GPU only to realize both emulators' bottleneck is my CPU ... |
