Control Thread: Automata.Antispam

This page has been set up as the control and logging thread for Automata.Antispam.

All forum leaders currently have access permissions to terminate the bot operations. The bot will also check this control thread for commands between each run cycle. A command string written anywhere within the post will be executed.

Current command list:

The bot does not take too kindly posts that are filled with external URLs, but with a tweak to take into consideration the user join date and post count, this should now be resolved.

Once you work out the kinks, this will be a great tool. It should eventually be allowed to quarantine posts by itself for review by a mod.

I think a useful feature would be for it to have two possible "likely-to-be-spam" levels. One where it thinks it's possible it could be spam - in which case it's just marked for review. The second level where it's dead-obvious would automatically move it to to the quarantine for review. (Would lessen the chance of false positives having any real effect.)

Hey, maybe crowdgather will offer you a job! Not sure I'd want to work for a company that doesn't really make any money, but still... haha.

I see this thing has deletion powers now....does it also ban the spambot? Because that wouldn't be a good thing...although it would help if perhaps it made a thread in the staff section for users of which it's detected a spam.

The bot does not currently ban, but it appears possible to code this in for obvious spambot accounts whose multiple posts become consecutively flagged as spam while posted within 5 minutes each.

The bot does not have access to the staff sections of the site aside from the closed threads archive, but it is not clear whether that is accessible to all staff, so the placement of the log is debatable.
