GB games looking like they were played on GB Color?

Is there any setting that I can make GB roms played on VBA to look like they were played on GB Color? Reason I'm asking is because some GB games have had pallettes for GBC that makes them look less ugly (1st gen Pokemon games, Super Mario Land: Six Golden Coins (not sure about rest of SML), etc.). So I'd like to set this up if I can. My version of VBA is 1.8.0-beta3.

I suppose you didn't check the menu to find the Gameboy option where you can change the colours?

Yes I did, and that's not it. When I insert SML2:6 golden coins rom it's still black and white, where when I insert SML2:6 golden coins into my GameBoy Color (or when I did, because I've lost both cart and GBC in poker), it had colors. Colors didn't have as great quality as real GBC games, but were present.

Sorry, I could have sworn that used to work. In that case I'd suggest trying a different emulator like Hello GB or the Original VisualBoy (VBoy) perhaps BGB or Gambatte (though I've never personally used those last two).

Not likely as I've tried all emulators mentioned here.

Have you tried using VBA-M, in that case? The colors option under Options -> Gameboy is working for me with SML2 and SML1...

I have Gameboy set to Automatic and Real Colors.

speaking of which, I recently read that there are Gameboy Color games which use improved graphics on a GBA. Is this emulated?

Not as far as I know...and that's the first I've heard of anything like that existing...baffles the mind how that could even be possible.

THANKS!!! VBA-m works fine! Also that "improved graphics" may be as well HQ*x scaler, as GBA has higher resolution.
