Dead State ended at 332k, going past their original goal (150k) and past a lot of their extra milestones (180k, 210k, 240k, 260k, 300k and 330k).
The game should have quite a bit of extra content now.

Clang has 3 days left and hasn't quite reached it's goal yet, they're currently standing at 430k with their goal being 500k. They could still make it considering a lot of projects gain a significant boost at the very end, but it'll most likely be close.

I wonder how consoles like the Ouya will affect MS, Nintendo and Sony's decisions.

I've known about Ouya for quite a while now and actually.... The end result could be not that much of a revolution.... Because I've got a similar device for quite for some time now. But still for me this is a damn good investment....

Devices like this one (Although the one I have is as big as the smaller DVD players.)
Android Mini

Remember that you can use the Wii Controller as a pointer and a PS3 controller as a gaming device to the Android with the right software. It's basically my media player, alternate internet device and emulation on TV right now.

Strider from what I can find of the chipset that that device is using its a single core A8 device meaning the power is far less then what the ouyas T3 chipset can output. at like $15 more then that device.

Web platform aside, a standardized spec for games would have to be adopted first.
Most Android games are controlled through touch or gyro sensors. A fancy controller is not going to help unless its touch-enabled and features an actual screen (blindly rubbing a gamepad's surface is no fun).

The gamepad for the ouya does have a touch surface but I do not know if you are able to see what you are doing and yeah that is basically why I don't buy an artist pad for the the pc becuase you can not see what you are doing on the pad so I prefer a touchscreen instead for drawing just need to get a stylus that works with my nook tablet and I can perhaps do some art work. I love drawing on paper and have for years just need a proper device so I can draw on a screen.

Now if companies make games strictly for the ouya then yeah they can forgo the touch controls for more traditional style controls. Plus with this an open platform you can get things like emulators where a real controller is a must. Hopefully they can add something like the X360s messenger addon to the controller that gives you a full keyboard for text input. Would help when using the device for other things then gaming such as searching youtube for videos or other things.

A spec remains the best way to go about it. The digital platform being the most important element, building hardware certified compatible with those would resolve any funding issues.

Assuming everything will require Android 4 minimum, thats one part out of the equation, but Tegra limits the number of existing projects that can be adapted to whatever changes specific to Ooyeah.

Thought Nvidia Tegra was the platform. Not sure if Nvidia is on board with this project or not tho but if they are and will be promoting it and helping to get devs up and running with it that may help in the long run. But as I said I do not know if Nvidia is working with the ouya team or not on this.

I read on Kickstarter that they will be working together so they get the best performance out of the Tegra 3 chipset.

They lost credibility with that survey for games not meant for mobile in the first place, much less likely to be ported or profitable there (without crushing every other entrants out from the the get-go). Yeah right, there will be Call of duty nd Skyrim sometime alright...
That was clearly just a publicity stunt, taking advantage of popular brands to generate buzz. I cant hlp but feel this was not directed at users though. Maybe to impress clueless investors?

I had been waiting for a new game by Ice-Pick Lodge. This isn't what I would have expected but after Cargo!, I know they're not planning to do what people expect of them.

They've announced Knock-Knock, a game in which you must maintain a house to protect yourself from ghosts and monsters while also finding out clues about what the hell is going on.

Quote:
Hide! We have to emulate hide-and-seek with monstrous creatures of nightmares. It turned out to be a hybrid of Lode Runner, Home Alone and Nightmare Ned.
Don’t look now! Keep (your avatar) away from the night visitors. The objective of each new night is to hold out until dawn and stay sane. The Night (a level) lasts for 7-10 minutes each.
Turn on the light! Only illuminated rooms are a safe haven and allow freedom of movement. But the light does not last for long and needs permanent supervision.
Fix the house! The more breaches there are in the house, the more fear, darkness and creatures of the sick mind the hero has to withstand.

The Kickstarter asks for 30k, which they should have no problem raising.

I'd like to see them go back to making games like Pathologic and The Void (warning : BOOBS) but this looks like a small and interesting game. Edit : Forgot to say, a backing of 5$ gets you the game. Will be 10$ at release.
I'm wishing them all the best.

Is it just me or is the horror genre starting to get extremely saturated just the Shooter genre?
