Final Fantasy 8 Hacking GF Exp

Right now Im looking for the Real Values to change Quezacotl Xp so he is stronger while I fight the damn Spider tank.
this code is listed in PEC
80078D3C ????
?0000-FFFF

in thier code list Unfortunatly that code only changes the Numbers that are seen in the menu and not the actual XP which is a hidden value, Ive seen this happen back in the day when you have two values one hidden and the real one and you had to search for value differences in order to find the right value, back when thier was a hex editor in Gamesharks.

Unfortunatly PEC and ePSXe doesnt have Hex editing and PCSX and PCSXR Is faulty.

IF any has a old Gameshark and PS1 can you search for the real hidden values for GF XP

IT seems master codes don't work in PEC otherwise id use the codes that accept them. (maybe I have to edit the codelist and place the master code in cause the User code list doesn't accept master codes or at least this one.)

The following was a explanation on how the codes work unfortunately the person that told him is long since gone or id ask him myself but here is what he wrote.

GF experience is an independent variable, so if your codes were modifying the correct value (possible that they weren't), then the changes you made to GF experience should both persist through turning off the cheat device, as well as save.

Also, GF level - and from that its damage, base max HP before GFHP abilities, and in certain cases ability availability - is auto-calculated from its experience immediately (or at least upon switching menu screens). You should not need to win a battle to make that experience "kick in" and level up the GF, or anything.

If the codes were modifying the correct values then they should've been somewhere in the range of:
800773xx yyyy
to:
800777xx yyyy

Since that's the section of memory where all important GF information (unlocked, experience, abilities known, progress toward learning abilities) is saved.
