Great dude and all but I don't see how he took a bullet for her...taking a bullet means you're both in the line of fire and with her being shielded already from the line of fire by being so low on the ground I don't see how that happened. And then you have to take into account the caliber of gun and the type of bullet meaning even shielding her might have been useless if she actually was in the line of fire with the bullet possibly having the capability to do a through and through on him and hitting the girl anyways. Sounds a bit too much like exaggeration without knowing where he was hit or with what. But hey he saved her life sure so he's still a hero and I salute him as well, just not necessarily as selfless as this article makes him out to be.

Yeah, good observation. I only skimmed through it and got to the good points because my mind is all over the place right now. Maybe I do have ADD...

another thing i noticed is the guy was married with 2 kids, and was dating this 21 year old girl. how old is this guy to have had a wife with 2 kids already!? from his actions in the movie theater he sounds like a hero, but from his past history he sounds like a douche-bag.

You'd be surprised how fast military members move on that front, he was likely in his mid/late 20s. Estranged means he wasn't with his wife barring legal binding......so I'm not sure how you could gather "douchebag" from that.

then leaving his wife after probably a year of marriage, and dating another woman; sounds like a sex-hungry alpha-male douchebag to me. if you don't love someone long enough to stay with them, then don't have multiple kids with them, and don't marry them.

Douchebag wife, lead a man into marrying you then doing his best friend in his bed whilst the kids are downstairs whilst he's fighting for his life. Sounds like a manipulative money grabber to me. Spoiler:

and since we don't, I don't think we can qualify him as a hero or not from what little info we have. Doing one courageous thing at the end of your life doesn't make you a hero if you've lived a crappy life until then. do we have the right to pass judgement? well I think rather than passing judgement, we're more like classifying him. do we have the right to classify him? i think so (if we knew the full circumstances); its just our opinion anyways.

Also, Not every marriage failure involves deceit or cruelty. Guy gave his life to save another, automatically assuming that he or his ex wife are terrible persons is a bit of an unfair tangent to go on, given how little information is known about the guy (and even less about his ex) Last edited by Nar Matteru; July 26th, 2012 at 07:26..
