Best NES/SNES emu's for enhancement

Well basically as the title says, I would like to know what the best emus are for graphical/audio enhancement for the NES and SNES systems.

I am hooking an "EmuBox" of sorts to my HD TV and want it to not look like a pixelated mess haha

So far i am looking into FCEUX, or NEStopia

FCEUX works well for me and supports fairly high resolutions and if you're looking for enhancements it has plenty of filters to make it not look all pixelated. it also has the option to trim the side of the screen that looks all messy (most obvious is in super mario bros. 3)

it's open source and the update often and is a good choice if you're looking for enhancements in visual and audio.

as for SNES, i personally use snes9x. knowing me, i probably got it because of all the enhancements cause thats just how i like to emulate stuff.

all in my opinion.

I emulate for the enhancements as well. I can just play on the original system if i want to play with standard stuff :P

Do you know of a "frontend" if you will, that i could use with a controller so i don't need to use a mouse and keyboard on the system?

don't need a frontend. just a driver that supports controller you are using. if it's a controller for e.g. ps3 then the motioninjoy driver will let it act as a gamepad. and gamepads are supported on most emulators including FCEUX.

depending if the controller is wireless or not, you may want to use a bluetooth dongle but you don't have to, i just use my usb charger with my controller.

i'm assuming you are using your hd tv as a monitor for your pc.

No i mean to navigate to select games before the emulator starts.

Each emulator will use it's respective classic controllers, In USB form

SNES9x has a nice selection of pixel filters as well:

For NES, FCEUX and Nestopia both come to mind for emus with good filters.

I prefer shaders to a selection of filters though. Since you could even port some Pete's OGL2 shaders, and some CRT lovers can have some shaders like this one. (Never tried porting anything to Snes9x though, might work I think)

ahh yeah, that ones nice. for me, it was just laziness though tbh. i couldn't be bothered looking for a shader i wanted and downloading it. i'm guessing there are packs out there anyway, just never looked. so i ended up picking out of the filters. i haven't used a snes emu for a while actually, i also haven't tried that many.
