Final Fantasy VII and PEC

Hey, guys.

I'm a first-time user here, so bear with me if I'm doing something goofy.

I've managed to get Final Fantasy VII to run on ePSXe 1.7.0 with shaders and whatnot beautifully, so I figured the next step would be to get some cheats up and running to speed my way through the first third of the game (which is as far as I've ever gotten).

I've downloaded set up PEC, and I can activate the cheats that I want without issue; those cheats are as follows:
  1. Infinite Gil
  2. Save Anywhere
  3. Infinite HP for Slot 1
  4. Infinite HP for Slot 2
  5. Infinite HP for Slot 3
  6. Infinite MP for Slot 4
  7. Infinite MP for Slot 5
  8. Infinite MP for Slot 6
Unfortunately, while these cheats all do their jobs, the "Infinite HP" cheats seem to be slightly buggy. Though my characters have infinite health during the first battle, their health glitches out during the second battle -- causing them to die instantly. The description for these three cheats states that they must be turned off after combat, but even if I turn cheats off with the Ctrl + A hotkey/manually in the PEC interface, my characters still promptly flatline.

My guess is that even though I'm disabling the cheats, the health values remain at their glitched ("infinite") levels.

I've ensured that my game's version is the one for which I am applying cheats (USA, SCUS 94163), and I did some searching on google for similar issues but came up with essentially nothing.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can use the "Infinite HP" cheats without insta-gibbing my characters in round two?

Thanks for your time.

I suggest that you use a save editor (Black Chocobo) and boost the save.
But for the real fun I would advise against any cheating, heh.

Don't PM or ask me about VMP-MCR conversions. I will ignore you if you do.

Protip: If you want a real good looking FFVII Version, get the PC Version. By now it runs good on Windows 7, some patching provided. There are lots of graphics enhancement modifications.

You're overflowing the hp values. Try changing the code value to a lower one.
If you can't get that to work, just use an ap after battle cheat to master some hp pluses.

If it's to survive, then cheat up a set of sources and make your stats 255
