Need help with controler setup

Hi,

please i need your help...my problem is that i always have to set up the controller setting after restarting my computer...all buttons are kind of cleared.

I use an original ps3 controller and installed its drivers with the program ds3 tool (motion joy gamepad tool). can this cause my problem? If yes is there another possibility to install a PS3 controller on Win7?

I hope that you can help me.

Settings are saved on the registry, so maybe not only controller but also other settings are reset?

Make sure not to have the controller inside a protected directory, like Program Files. (although it's User registry... anyway)
Make sure not to have some sort of "registry protection" software messing around.
Make sure not to be using any of the illegal "PSX Game for PC" bundles that come with ePSXe and will mess your settings.

The emulator settings are stored separetly to the plugin's settings. So if Pete's plugins do not keep the settings, then something is weird with registry access permissions.

It may also be possible that ePSXe's controller settings depend on certain joystick ID, and that ID ain't kept during restarts by the montionjoy driver. Which would be different to "settings get reset" but it would make you remap your controller.

Give Shark a try and use LilyPad's input plugin on PCSX2 on ePSXe.

Hey.

Motioninjoy requires that you use the DS3 tool application to enable a controller mode for your dualshock3 every time you restart your PC. For example, if I want to enable the analog sticks, I have to use the Playstation 2 profile and enable it every time I restart my computer.

After that, the settings stick around, and then you can configure your emulators, but you should stick to one preferred profile. If you keep switching between profiles, you might even get a new driver installed since some of them require it, then you will certainly need to remap the buttons.

Finally, after you have configured your emulators, make sure to choose your desired profile in the ds3tool application every time you boot your pc, and your emulator settings are saved. If you don't, you will notice that the analog sticks aren't working.

Currently, there isn't a workaround to avoid this, you have to use ds3tool to set a controller mode on every boot, but your emulator settings are always saved, unless you update your motioninjoy drivers, which might sometimes need new controller configuration, or keep switching between different profiles. Apart from that motioninjoy has really progressed a lot. Stable support, rumble support, it really works well for many emulators and games.
