Couple of questions about saves
1)Is it possible to fill up the epsxe memory cards? If so how do you create more and swicth between memory cards? 2)Is it possible to download saves from websites such as Gamefaqs? If so what format do they need to be in and where do you have to put them? 3)Can you transfer saves from a PSone memory card? If so how? 4)In the tutorial I used to setup epsxe it told me to download something called MemManager and put it in the memcards folder but if I try and open it I get an error saying "This application has failed to start because MSVBVM50.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" thjust says the application has stopped working. Is this application even necessary? If not should I just delete it? 5)Bit of a random one but I've noticed in all of the default folders for epsxe there is a weird file in each one with names like punch.me, erase.me, kill.me etc are they necessary? If not should I get rid of them? Thanks! |

1) Yes, they can be filled up if you have a lot of saves. If you go into epsxe's memory card menu, you can just type in a new name for a memory card and it'll make a new one. Or use Shendo's Memcard Rex* to create/edit memory cards. 2) Yep, use Memcard Rex to add them to a memory card of your choice. 3) That's a bit trickier. You'd need a way to run PS2 or PS3(with the physical memory card slots) homebrew to get at the raw save files of your PS1 memory card. Or a DexDrive from the PS1 days. 4) I'd guess it's a memory card editor like Memcard Rex. You shouldn't need it when Memcard Rex is more or less the best PS1 memory card tool. 5) They're just dummy files. Feel free to delete them. (*): It requires .net 3.0 I think. Nothing special.

Thanks for the reply. I have one of those USB memory card adaptors if there is any way to use that to get the saves onto my pc? I did it with my PS2 saves so I figured it would be possible with my PSone saves. With regards to downloading saves can you recommend any decent sites to download them? Also what format do they need to be in or will memcardrex sort that for me? |

One of those Sony Memory card to USB things? I heard you can backup ps1 saves with them, but I've not been able to try it. I'll dig around for ways of using it. GameFAQs is probably your best bet for places to get PS1 saves. Memcard Rex should be able to handle nearly any kind of PS1 save you can throw at it.
