VivaNonno and max speed issue

Apologies if this might not be the right section, I'm not sure where to put this. There's hardly any info online for this game or emulator.

Ok, for YEARS I've been unable to complete the Ridge Racer and Raver Racer games on VivaNonno and it's apparent when I watch other people play that they can go faster than me.

I know my foot pedals can reach their max, because a calibration tool shows that they're working. The wheel seems to be the problem. If I play with the keys, every left and right nudge gives a little speed boost on Rave Racer, but with the wheel, it gives a slight negative impact and I can't reach the top speed and win the Mountain race.

I'm wondering if it's because the keys for VivaNonno are setup. I can't find a way to change them but the X key is to brake and as you can see, my wheel axis is defined as just "X" and I think they're conflicting.

If anyone could test and post your config that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
