The reason why Desmume isn't supported atm is because this build uses a different grabbing method while the old one used the old method in order to keep XP compatibility. Desmume is one of those that need a special care but i'm on it and i will get it working back soon... hence why the options are missed.

2 suggestions. Enable log ins for YouTube, so you can easily access favorites and subscriptions. Also, enable metadata and cover art for videos. (If you need to know what I'm talking about, I use a program called Media Center Master to tag my moves with covers, backdrops, and metadata)

Good job tho, this is MUCH better than the build I tried quite some time ago.

Thank you for the suggestions

The build supports metadata and cover art for videos. If you drop a picture to a video item the image is going to be stored in the metadata added to the video... the only thing that isn't linked right now is the tag editor which only opens audio files and no videos even if it supports them.

In its current form it looks like this when videos have metadata:

That's great! I'll play around with it. Might still be useful to accept other standard formats for that too tho.

This is awesome, really smooth, and an excellent replacement for Windows Explorer.

This would work great if you could control the User Interface with an Xbox 360 Controller, and somehow get the Guide Button to work to switch out of the emulators ,similar to the Xbox 360 UI, alternatively the PS3 Controller and its Home Button.

I can finally bin my mouse and keyboard

Almost every video format is supported except mkv. as of now i've managed to get the metadata partially working but i need to work a bit more in cover embedding.

Thank you for the kind words!

Gamepad support is uncluded but not yet usable. However using the PS3 BD Remote control you can control the entire UI. If i get some more free time i will complete the gamepad support and allow people to control the UI with them. Another test i'm doing is using Kinect to control the UI as well which may change the experience too

@ruantec is it possible to add split screen to DeSmuMe similar to the way NO$ZOOMER does for NO$GBA as that is one feature missing from DeSmuMe that I really need as I tend to set up NO$Zoomer on my 2 monitors so that I dont have to sit right on top of them to play I can sit back a ways and be perfectly fine but I can not do that with DeSmuMe in its current form. My current pc cant handle DeSmuMe but I dont know if I even wanna try using it on my new pc because of the missing separate windows option that is useful for those of us with multiple screens at different resolutions.

No. You'll notice he captures the whole DeSmuME window and as such is bound to it's limitations.

That bites. If it stays that way I will have a big reason to stay with NO$BGA and NO$ZOOMER on my new pc instead of switching to DeSmuMe. The crew over there really need to get off their high horse and implement such a feature for those of us who have multiple monitors at different resolutions.

Just as Schumi explained @ES in many situations is bound to the emulators limitations which is why certain things aren't possible. After thinking in a solution on how to add such features i got an idea that may help me to implement the feature you requested. Unlike the old version this one use a very different code to grab emulators which is by far more advanced than the old method that was used to keep XP compatibility.

@ES in its current form possess the ability to render the game not just in its own screen but also to render the game several times anytime and almost everywhere. for instance the Emulator layer renders the game while the main screen renders the game a second time on demand as a overlay. I wrote that code in order to provide a better experience which may help in this case. As far as i know Desmume don't split its window which makes the process for me even easier. The only drawback in the operation is that the mouse events are only catched in one layer and not in every layer rendered. The Nintendo DS do not support touch on both screens as far as i know which is perfect for me to accomplish the feature you requested. The idea is to render the game in two layers and just show the screen wished on each layer skipping the rest.

Note:
@ES multiple rendering code is fast and use the GPU so the CPU usage is very small and as good as 0. The only time i saw a notaciable resource usage was after rendering a PS2 game over 15 times. I can't promise you a quick implementation of the idea i just got but i will do all i can to get some free time and try to implement it... if this works then its the first time @ES will overcome a mayor limitation of a Emulator. Theoreticaly there is nothing preventing @ES from getting the wished effect done using my new idea...however there may be some challenges

Hmm Sounds similar to the way NO$ZOOMER handles it with NO$GBA as that emulator is very basic in its window functionality and doesnt even allow the size to change let alone to separate the the windows and yeah the ds only has a single touchscreen so only one window needs to accept mouse clicks. So yeah it seems you are thining along the same lines that NO$ZOOMER has taken with NO$GBA

Do not worry about getting it figured out right away as its going to be several months before I even get the rest of the money around for the new pc so my current one can not handle DeSmuMe anyways but if you can include the option in future builds of @ES that would be perfect for me and for a few others that have complained on this very fourm about it missing from DeSmuMe.

@ruantec, great application. I'm using it so I don't have to go opening different programs emulators and music players all the time. I've got a suggestion and a bug issue:

BUG - Everytime i come out of fullscreen from a game, the app gives me an infinite ammount of popups saying "An exception occured: value out of expected range" and I have to shut it down through the task manager. Could it be from the resolution?

SUGGESTION - I don't know if this is already possible (sorry, if it is, ignore it), but how about making it possible to flip the app just like you would a tablet for possible grabbing of the NDS emulator and for MAME flipper games? Just a thought.

Thanks so much, I'm am really anxious to see what's to be expected of this application! Thumbs up, really!

He's awfully busy again at the moment (he's traveling for business at the moment) so I think the project is back on hold till things quiet down a bit again.

Just as SCHUMI_4EVER already stated i have a awfully busy schedule at the moment and i'm traveling/flying a lot to Germany and other places. Because of that i don't have the time to work in the project right now as i would love to. However that doesn't mean i won't work on it again since things should get better soon and i will have more time to spend in the final version which i'm going to release here later. This time i'm taking in consideration that just as now i may get awfully busy later and because of that i've decided to release @ES open source except for the core library which contains @ES main features which i want to keep close still. However i will offer the source of almost everything so that people can fix or extend @ES capabilities.

The upcomming version is not just more advanced but it uses a very nice plugin system to extend or restrict capabilities of the user. In that way people can personalize @ES or just extend its capabilities anytime. The @ES project will go on and i will work on it as much as i can improving it as much as i can but i think with the new version people finally have access to @ES capabilities and some coders may take advantage of it and create there own tools if they wish.

In case you wonder why the lack of updates or what happened to me then check the Perpetual Welcome Back/Leaving thread where i always post something before i leave like i did here or just the random thoughts thread where i post things like this because i'm very tired after working up to 14 hours daily including saturday and sunday hehehehehehe.

As soon as i get some progress i will post it here specially since i got some PC games working which may be a good thing for those who love to play games in windowed mode like i do
