Having an issue with your plugin (which i'd love to give it a shot) if i set it to anything other then the XP recommended, i get a failure to start XAudio2 message (i am on Win7) the X-Audio2 works perfect in PCSX2, but not in ePSXe, is there something i am goofing up?

You might need to install the direct files from Microsoft (here - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=6871 ) and read this - http://www.programmerfish.com/how-to...s-7-and-vista/

hey, anyone experiencing a very slight sound "pause" every few minutes of gameplay? For some reason i get that in every game - like it's recaching the audio, or something? I don't think it latency dependant though, any ideas? Other then that i get perfect audio with no buzz or anything..

Same here. I'd say just stick with eternal 1.41. But honestly, you might want to try the Xebra emulator on run 1 mode, since that has virtually flawless compatibility from what I have heard.

Try the version from June 2011 (I think SVN 16 or 17..?)

Try this version, I never hear any popping or crackling noise - http://www.mediafire.com/?ej6l9vp7vm7ib8t

It's "older" but so far seems to be the most stable.

Damn... always one or two steps behind on things.

Recently implemented this sound engine in pcsxbox as an experiment (about two weeks ago). I didnt have much time to test but a small handful of games. Noticed sound improvements in the following titles...

FF7 - beta tester says the weapon effects are fantastic!
Konami Arcade - emulated games actually have music now.
Xenogears - sounds way better to me.
Vandal Heart - same as Xeno (noticeably better to me).

However the beta tester reported FF8 and FF9 having a few issues.. my last release he rated

FF8 the official SPU (1.9) as 8/10 and SPU (1.10) as 7.5/10. Sound Timer original. End of battle music a little garbled. Sound garbled when entering the world map.

FF9 the official SPU (1.9) as 10/10 and SPU (1.10) as 6/10. Mostly music issues. Like when entering a battle and some of the weapon sounds (some are out, some ok).

Didn't know if these similarities exist when running this plugin with pcsx-reloaded on a PC. I'm gonna try to get him to try those and let me know.

Anywho thanks for a rather interesting update. I have not quite decided what I'm gonna do with it yet. But the stuff that sounds fantastic, does just that.

But I can understand the frustrations in dealing with psx emulation. It's like.. fix one thing, break a few others..

If you want an accurate PSX sound core, I would go for the XEBRA emulator. The only problems I have seen to run across with it are some games with talking in them, like Metal Gear Solid, where the sound will popp a little bit.

Xebra definitely has the most accurate sound emulation.

Well yeah, it is, so we can't verify if it is accurate by emulating the PSX sound core correctly or whether it uses game hacks to get its accuracy, but it is nearly perfect. If only the audio did not popp during talking in Metal Gear Solid and such, it would be virtually flawless.
