Record video AND Microphone audio

Hey. This is my first time posting and I need some assistance with finding out how to record your voice as you record a ROM on DeSmuME.

I am hoping to make some videos that I will be able to share with others and it would be rather dull without commentary.

I have successfully recorded several videos, and the audio for the ROM itself is flawless, however I cannot seems to get DeSmuME to pick up the audio from my Mic. I know that it isn't a mic issue as I tested it with several different programs and when I looked at the "Microphone Settings" it seems to be only settings for inputting voice commands to the DS games that allow voice commands itself.

Do I have to use editing software and insert audio afterwards?

If anyone could shed some light on this issue, I would be very greatful.

Have a 3.5mm male to male jack, plug one end into the headphone jack and the other into an audio input box, plug your mic into that box too.

Or use fraps with multiple audio sources, stereo mix and the mic

Thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately, I do not have an audio input box or fraps so I suppose I will just have to record the audio with Audacity and use some editing software to overlap the audio and video.
