Went to the pet store to buy the special food I"m supposed to feed my dog, and ended up also getting a snake. It's a little corn snake - won't get too big, but it's nifty.

I know they are all blurry, couldn't be arsed to set my camera to macro.

Feed him pinkies so he'll grow faster, they are made up of a lot of fat compared to meal worms and crickets.

I believe what the pet shop gave me was frozen baby mice. Which a quick google shows that is what a pinkie is, lol.

The snake is only supposed to grow to 3 foot according to the care guide. I don't really want a 12' snake anyway.

Don't feed him from your hands. If the snake confuses the smell, he'll happily take a chunk out of your fingers. Drop the mice in with tongs or pliers.

Well, it already bit me once. Didn't hurt too bad. I accidentally dropped it on the ground (just from a foot or so), and I guess I wasn't gentle enough picking it up and it was like "OH HELL NO!" and snapped at my finger. Then when I was taking pictures of it, the flash startled it and it snapped at the camera - too bad that picture just turned out as a blur, or it would have been pretty nifty.

It doesn't seem like the snakes get handled too much at the pet store I got it from, so it might take awhile for it to get used to it. That, and it was just fed yesterday, and you're really not supposed to handle them afterwords which might explain some extra aggression.

Seriously... this sh!t is disgusting as hell and taste horribly bad! how in hell can people drink it??? it taste like the cheap multi-vitamin stuff you can buy here that disolve itself in watter. I was expecting a chewing gum taste which is typical for American tastes but this goes beyond madness
