Slowdowns in The Legend of Dragoon
Hi there everyone. I have a problem emulating The Legend of Dragoon. The main issues I have are the transition from running around, to going into a battle. When the screen like "shatters" while it is transitioning to a battle, it runs really slow, and the frame rate can drop as low as 6 FPS. There are some other times the game gets laggy as well, such as the scene after killing the snake in Limestone Cave, when the commander in Hoax uses the attacks where the Japanese symbols pop up, or when Shera transforms into Shana or Albert. I have read other threads about this game, but none of them really helped me. I was hoping someone here could help me. Here are my computer specs: I am on an HP Pavilion dv7-c95dx My operating system is Windows 6 home Premium 64-bit My processor is Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20 GHz I have 8 GB RAM My GFX Card is an Intel HD Graphics Family with 64 MB vRAM And I think my sound card is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC I have all the latest drivers for all of these. Here are my ePSXe settings: I am running on ePSXe 1.7 Video Plugin is Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 with the following settings Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: Intel GFX card: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family Resolution/Color: - 1600x900 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing - Internal X resolution: 2 - Internal Y resolution: 3 - Keep psx aspect ratio: off - No render-to-texture: on - Filtering: 4 - Hi-Res textures: 2 - TexWin pixel shader: on - VRam size: 64 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 60.0 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 2 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: on - Shader effects: 4/3 - Flicker-fix border size: 0 - GF4/XP crash fix: off - Game fixes: off [00000003] And here are the soft video settings if those are necessary Plugin: P.E.Op.S. If someone could help me, that would be great. |

Hmm the d3d plugin certainly fixed the slowdowns, but the graphics are noticeably worse, and there are some graphical glitches. I guess this is just a case where I either have to deal with slowdowns, or deal with worse graphics?
