Clearing the settings on all Pads except PAD1 is a must.

Edit1: I got the chance to get a copy of Goal Storm 97 to test it. It works perfectly with 1.6.0

The only way I am aware is to use emulator in Window mode and you have chat window in Kaillera P2P GUI.

Can anyone please let me know what this means? We are trying to setup CTR but analog doesn't work with MultiTap on. This line seems to have the answer but neither of us can understand it.

Thank you!

EDIT~~~

We figured it out after reading further into the thread.

WE GOT IT WORKING!! We are across the globe from each other playing CTR!!! Thank you VERY Much!!!!!

Just follow the guide and you will get your answer.

It is applicable for all games supported by ePSXe.

Thanks in advance.

Indeed.

An addition onto it for how to port forward would be nice [even a link to another site that explains it].

Sure. But can you (OP) organize it a little better?
Currently it's a "mess" of colored text. Check the other FAQs in the PSX section for guidelines.

Edit: I deleted the posts about the gamepad config as requested.

Excellent tutorial here, but require some help!

I have followed everything here down to every little detail but unfortunately when trying to connect to my friend via kaillera I just couldn't find him and vice versa. We've done all port forwarding correctly etc but no luck.

Anyway we managed to get connected by using the client method or hamachi to connect to ourselves, however when playing the game Crash Bash, all that seems to happen when we actually get into a game, is like we are playing different games.

We seem to move around in the same places, but other characters etc are different on our screens. Do you have a solution for this at all? As in even if we've failed on my screen but my friends still playing on his, I can move my character on his screen just fine still! Very strange.

Thanks!

My good friend thelittlegumnut and I have figured out this tutorial is pretty wrong when it comes to the kaillera client.

We connected by downloading the Mame32 file from here:

http://213.133.97.217/Downloads/MAME...9-20070914.zip

Open that, then open the Kaillera folder inside the package. Then take the kaillera .dll out of it and place it into the root directory of ePSXe [replacing your current .dll]. Make sure you both have it and then your good to go

Funnily enough that's exactly the version we downloaded to try aswell haha, where you can change between P2P or client.

Are you connected via P2P or just using the server client? As I say with P2P we've done the port forwarding, through the router and firewall, we've both tried hosting each by giving eachother our IP (from whatismyip.com) but nothing happens unfortunately, just can't connect to eachother or find ourselves on the "waiting list".

When doing it through a server there is slight lag, perhaps that is what is putting us in different games? Everythings fine up until we get into a game in terms of seeing the same things on our screens.

We're using the Pete's GPU GL2 video plugin (we've tried the other video plugin that comes with the Epsxe and not only do the graphics look bad we experience the same issues) and the Eternal sound plugin, all set up as mentioned exactly the same, the game pads are setup correctly with multitap. We're using Epsxe 1.7.0, there's no reason why we should be having these problems really.

Somebody else mentioned the same problem we're having on the first page regarding different games, wonder if he ever got it sorted.

Anybody with any other suggestions or help will be highly appreciated! Also why connecting via P2P isn't working aswell, we've forwarded the port 27886 to no avail. Thanks.

that actually sounds pretty strange. we are using p2p with the mame32 client. everything you said sounds correct. all i can think of doing is double checking the firewall. make everything in the inbound rule you made is set to public, not protected connections only, just while you are playing. then i just disable and enable the rule when using kaillera. the only other possible issue it would seem, would be if your ISO's are slightly different. like NTSC or PAL. hmmm... and check whether you have the EXACT same memory cards. send each other the files, and make sure they all have the same saves on them. cheats also screw up the game online often. as for graphics plugin, it doesn't really matter unless you want to speed up the processes on your pc, but it won't really aid the connection. i recommend sending snapshots of all your settings to your friend. sometimes the issue is really obvious but you accidently miss it. make the controllers set to "digital" instead of dualshock just incase. check your antivirus isn't blocking these connections.

Very quick response, many thanks!

I think you may be right on the port blocking, despite doing the forwarding correctly (atleast what I thought!) checking if the port is open on a port checking site, it's saying it is closed still which is strange, shall have to look into it!

We're using the same game (Crash bash, the only game we've tried), same memory cards etc, and I setup his emulator so I know it's exactly the same as mine. Tried the controllers as digital and dual shock with no difference too, disabled antivirus, added exceptions in windows firewall, also disabled windows firewall too, no help.

Think i'll try getting to connect through P2P as it does lag a fair amount on servers using the client method and see how that goes. Thing is though even when connecting through the severs surely we shouldn't be in different games when we've selected something? Thanks.

No I don't think I am using a static IP actually, are you able to help in regards to setting a static IP up? I'm new to all this port forwarding, so all i've done is added the ports (TCP and UDP to be sure) on my router forwarding page, and that's it basically. Thanks.
