Unhappy ePSXe, peops 1.4, virtual drive not detected

Hello!

I am new to emulation that isn't of the SNES kind. I am however aware of the laws regarding PSX emulation and BIOS'. I own FFIX for PSX. It is a fine game, but my PSX has been non-fuctional for some time now. May she rest in peace. Recently, the mood struck me to play it again, and after some searching, I discovered I could run it with an emulator!

Imagine my delight.

I followed one or two guides which helped me through the installation and configuration process, both of which reccomended that I use the "peops" series of plugins to play FFIX. I am using Daemon Tools Lite to mount an image of disc 1, because mine is damaged and does not run properly.

Everything checked out until I hit a slight snag;

when I select the "P.E.Op.S CDR Driver 1.4" option in the CD-ROM plugin config menu, my virtual drive (K: is not detected by ePSXe. It simply does not exist. It shows me my physical DVD-ROM drive (F:) which is great, but its not where my image is mounted.

When I select ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K or ASPI core 1.7.0. it shows me all my drives, physical F: and virtual K:, but the emulator will give me a black screen when I try to run the image with the built-in plugin.

To the best of my knowledge, I have installed the plugins and emulator correctly. My problem is that peops does not detect my virtual drive as one that exists. It just doesn't show up in the drop down menu.

TL-DR:

-I need to run a virtual drive to run my image file.
-The P.E.Op.S. plugin does not detect my virtual drive (Daemon Tools Lite).
-The virtual drive is where my image file is mounted.
-No matter how many other virtual devices I "create", none of them are detected by peops.
-Yes, the image is mounted. I can see the image's contents in Explorer, peops just cannot detect the drive.
-I am familiar with Daemon Tools, I've used it to run many a game on my netbook which doesn't actually have a CD-ROM drive in it.

Help? Is there any way to fix peops not detecting my virtual drive? Should I use another set of plugins for ePSXe?

File>Run ISO......

using Daemon Tools and the virtual drive shows up in ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K Core 1.7.0, but not in P.E.Op.S

all I can think of is Daemon Tools virtual drive is a Blu-ray drive and P.E.Op.S cdr plugin doesn't know wtf it is.

I have exactly the same problem as described above and I've made a virtual CD drive but it still doesn't help. Everything was working fine on win xp, this problem started when I "upgraded" to win 7? Anyone... please?

Use the recently (i.e. last month) released DSound Repair 1.10 svn17; it sounds a lot better than PEOPs 1.4 and it's pretty easy to set up! (Search "Dsound 1.9 repair" in the search engine here).

I'm having this same issue. Does anyone know another plugin that would be able to read the Daemon Tools virtual drive?

Or maybe another virtual drive program that would work better with the peops cdr driver?
