ok for clarification can i have a step by step guide of how to start a new game wherein i can save game propperly with the correct settings? This thread is too sporadically explained with too much jargon for me to make head or tale of it as i'm a complete newbie to the emu scene.

the issue occurs because prior to vba-m, there was no real way to detect the flash backup size and auto set it correctly. (this still isn't done in vba-m, but we've added a detection / information dialogue). The only way to resolve the issue in most cases is to delete the current save, and then set the memory size manually, or use the available vba-over.ini to autoset games, |

Hey u know wat? i had da same problem, but thanx to u guys, it's solved. Before changing da option ,delete ur previous .sav files. Now open da vba and change da save settiings. load da game only after dat. u can experiment wid many options, but if u want to continue ur previous game, then follow da instructions given above(by others i mean)... |

thanks for the sharing here, I had same issue before, but it did take lots of time for me to finally figure it out. The instruction did work, just need to be patient sometimes.

Found a different way.
Hey everyone, i'm new to the GBA Emu world. I also have the same problem but i've found a differen way. NO$GBA 2.6 doesn't have that 1-M error mainly because its a newer emu that VBA. Guess you can google for a NO$GBA 2.6 download. |

However no$gba has issues displaying fog so it's not perfect either and at least for those bits you'd have to use VBA.

Pokemon Emerald has a different error again. It said " The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur." Do you think that the 1M Circuit board error and this one has something in common. Don't know, i'm desperate to fix both errors properly.

I was right, both errors had something in common. To get rid of both errors open VBA 1.7.2 then go to options, point to emulator and then enable "Real Time Clock." You can check it out by opening Pokemon Fire Red/Emerald and pressing start. You will notice the errors is gone. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is Fire Red still won't save in-game. Pokemon Emerald seems to saved correctly in-game with default settings. I so far have all the badges on Fire Red and is now on my way to the Elite Four. I already caught Zapdos in a master ball, Moltres got away from me. I'm starting to play Emerald now. Why is VBA still v1.7.2? Shouldn't there be a newer version already. It's not still 1.7.2, it's 1.8 Beta3 but 1.7.2 is still the most stable version and since VBA is dead that's not going to change.

I've found a solution for the broken saved games, all you need to do is to run the GBA game with a working GBA BIOS, this can be downloaded easily from the internet and can be set on VBA's menu. That fixes it correctly.

Don't tell people to download BIOS files from the net. It's against the Emuforums Warez Policy. The only legal way to obtain them is to dump them in this case from a GBA.

None, they're all illegal and it's against the Rules of this place to discuss anything like that.
