epsxe + ff viii + analog stick = ?
Hey there. I've got a problem with my gamepad, which is a original psx DualShock controller connected with a "-to-USB" adaptor. It works perfectly fine in every emulator I tested so far (Project64, PCSX, PSXeven). It also kind of works with ePSXe, at least FF 7+9 do well. Only FF 8 and ePSXe got this strange behaviour, where the left analog stick's x-axis and y-axis are inverted in the game menus and battle menus, but not on the world map. So in menus, when I push the stick up, the cursor moves left, when I push it left the cursor moves up etc. etc. but the directions are correct on the "world-screens" and world map. The funny thing is that I already tested a ****load of arrangements of my equipment: - 2 other, different -to-USB adaptors - tried the ps2's DualShock2 - also with all 3 adaptors - tried with ePSXe 1.5.2 and 1.6.0 also with each combination of the equipment from above - finally tried it on two different machines (win2k+win7x64), again with all combinations... But everytime, I get the exact same behaviour, but ONLY in FF8's menus... I've already googled the web and searched on this board to solve this problem, but there was never a solution. Now, the last thread was like 2008, so I decided to just ask again, 4 years later: is there something, which can be done to fix this issue nowadays? Or is there a "hardcoded" bug in ePSXe's internal controller plugin (which only occurs with FF8??). It really is a dilemma for me, because the other emulators somehow won't load with my favourite gpu plugin (peops soft), and ePSXe, where this works, doesn't work with my favourite psx-emu input-device T_T I would be glad if someone knew something about this issue or at least could tell me, that there will never be a solution, so I can find my peace and stop fiddling around with adaptors and stuff.best regards (sorry for my bad english :/) |

I thoguht this was fixed in ePSXe v1.7.0 ? Try with Shark, which fixes some stuff and even lets you use input plugins. http://forums.ngemu.com/showthread.php?t=142361 |
