Cloud sync: here come new challengers to Dropbox

Microsoft and Google recently unveiled their own cloud synchronization services to challenge Dropbox and Apple's iCloud. Their offerings look compelling, with Google offering the best prices for large storage allocations (up to 16 TB).

Dropbox: 2 GB (free)
Skydrive: 7 GB (free). Existing users can increase their allocation back to 25 GB free.
Google Drive: 5 GB (free)

Google Drive vs DropBox, SkyDrive, SugarSync, Box

Making up personal information and/or uploading malicious files to their servers might work.

The only time I use any DropBox-esque service is the rare times I do any kind of collaborative work. Real simple for the people I'm working with to set up. Other than that, I have DVDRs and USB hard drives for backups.

Looks like Dropbox is feeling the heat, their forum's on fire over comparatively very expensive paid plans, worsening support and absolute silence about ways to go forward. Something tells me their IPO will be significantly comprimised. That'll teach them some humility after their days of arrogance.

Dropbox for Windows and Mac Updated with Auto Photo Uploading and Up to 3 GB of Additional Free Space

I use both Dropbox and Googledrive. Dropbox still the imo. Need to refer friends to get max 16GB free storage as starter get 2GB, and if you registered by refer you'll get extra 250MB.
Dropbox has "recently changed files" view while googledrive don't. They should add that so I know what files being sync lately. But good is as starter you'll get 5GB free storage Dropbox. More than that you'll need to pay. We'll I use both of it. I can do my work on my smartphone, laptop and desktop. No more USB Pendrive. I lost 3 of it so far, all data is also a goodbye. Somebody steal it, drop or forget it somewhere.

Will be great if Google give more free space. I believe they will soon.
