Final Fantasy IX - No Battle Text Menu Running PCSXR (Mac)

I'm running Final Fantasy IX through PCSXR on a Mac. The game loads up fine -- no crashes - and everything looks great until the first battle when the text menu does not show up. Anybody have any thoughts on how to fix this? Relatively new to the world of PSX emulation so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I did see this error before.... and I didn't know why..?
anyway use psxfin1.13 emulation it's work very will.
you can say there's no error in this emulator...
