Grey Screen starting up game

I own this game, but it's scratched to hell due to being old as sin, so I'm within my legal rights to own the copy I've backed up on my PC. That being said, I cannot seem to get Chankast to run Skies of Arcadia. The file I have is .CDI that I've mounted with daemon tools.

I hear the sound of the emulator booting, the generic dreamcast sound, but after that the screen goes gray. I have tried using NTSC-U, NTSC-J and PAL bios files, again I own the physical system, so I'm within my legal rights to own these files.

That being said, I have my CD input as the one ending in XXX and the other input as Elsmer or whatever.

I doubt my system specs are an issue but for the sake of covering my bases:
i3 Intel Core 2310m
Intel HD 3000 (Onboard chipset)
3gb ram

Specs sound ok but why do you use Chankast that's way out of date and you could use NullDC instead?
