SSF4AE PC Restore missing light effects!

The PC version has been found to be missing lighting effects.

See below image...

As can be clearly seen, in the PC version the fireballs do not create a lighting effect on Ryu's body.

Vanilla SF4 did not have this issue, however Capcom made a mistake porting SSF4AE to PC and missed some files the game needs.

The issue is not just with Ryu either, All lighting effects for all characters have this issue and this download fixes the issue completely. (Well at least as for as I have checked)

Here, if you look carefully you can see the light reflecting off Juri's pants as well as Ken's legs in particular!

The attached files will restore full lighting to the PC version.
Just drop the 2 contained folders/contents into your install folder

Here is mine after fixing the issue.

See here for a better SSF4AE Title Screen + Announcer and for SSF4AE Arcade version fireball + block sounds

Enjoy!

Cheers DS, that will certainly come in handy once I get the game (I'm digging through my backlog now, no point adding to it:>).

If anyone wants the arcade versions title screen with Oni/Evil Ryu just ask and I will post it.

Default Title Screen

Modded Title Screen

I also have the arcade versions audio file for the title screen announcer (converted for PC) who actually says "Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition" instead of just "Super Street Fighter IV" as well as the Arcade versions audio files for fireball and blocking sounds which are FAR meatier.

Modded Title Screen and Announcer voice video

This video shows the lighting fix in the OP and...
In the first half you hear the default fireball/blocking sounds. In the second half of the video you will hear the arcade versions modded into the game.

could this mean there are also differences between the SSFIV AE retail release and SSFIV retail + AE add-ons for the consoles?

Is there any chance that the next update from Capcom will disable these mods?

Here is the first link for SSF4AE Arcade version fireball + block sounds

You hear the difference in this video (1st half is normal sounds/2nd half is modded sounds)

And now the second one that changes the title screen + the announcer.

Grab it at the bottom in the attachments.

Here is a video so you get to hear what the new Super Street Fighter IV AE announcement sounds like.

Enjoy!

EXTREMELY unlikely as the files edited are not files they would ever likely need to patch.

The lighting issue is the only one that MAY get changed by Capcom with an official fix.

One last mod for anyone that wants to see PS3 buttons in menu's etc..
This one was made by me (None of the others were created by me)

You must use a 360 controller emu to see the button replacements.

I made this because I was getting frustrated navigating menu's with the wrong buttons showing.

Link at bottom of post

DarkSamus's SSF4AE PS3 Button Mod

Thanks once I finally get this game it should come in handy. Though looking at the lighting free original version it actually doesn't bother me much.

Posting so that I have an easier time of locating this thread again.

I would like to fight you one day DS.

The other day I was at a friend's house.
We were playing SF4, it's been years since I fought with a human player and it felt great.

I won 30 to 1 to 4 guys in total, not 30 to each guy. They were noobs but I'm a noob too in SF4, I don't use cancels and the sort. Never practiced before.
I was just using my tactics from Street Fighter II turbo. Then came one guy and beat me.
He was mid pro, I know with some practice I can defeat him. I just need to use the new features of SF4.

Yeh, I can't remember when I fought a human opponent last time, it was around Tekken 3 times. My skill has really gone rusty since then and I am really bad now. Can't stand to play fighters with a gamepad though, I mean dualshock is quite ok, but X360 gamepad is horrendous for it. Nothing like a good arcade stick, but they cost quite a bit and I can't spare anything now.

There is some MOD for the Self Shadow Quality look like SF4? In SSF4AE look pixelated in close-ups of the characters, in SF4 this look more soft. Capcom forgot to fix that.

No, there is no mod for that and unlike the lighting issue that they fixed officially Capcom seem uninterested in fixing the shadow's as well.
