PCSX2 keeps crashing

When I run Kingdom hearts on pcsx2 it starts and proceeds to the menu screen. Then I choose new game, difficulty, vibration on/off, then it tells me proceed yes/no and i choose yes to start the game. Here the screen goes black and then it crashes. The console says there's a segmentation error. How do I fix this?

Welcome to this place.

Wrong section. Mod will move it to PCSX2 section.

Did you face any of that with another game?...and what are your PC specs?

did you try to disable the speed hacks? Always try a game first with default settings.
ALso enable native in GSdx plugin

Sorry for posting in the wrong section. I'm actually running pcsx2 for mac. I have a mac osx leapord. I tried with the default settings and with many other settings as well. It still won't get past the start menu before it crashes.

It says this before it gives me the segmentation fault:
CDGetToc Param[0]=0, Param[1]=1

Then when it crashes it says:
pcsx2.sh: line 2: 8338 Segmentation fault ./pcsx2

Could it just be the game or did I just configure pcsx2 wrong?

I've never found this necessary for compatibility.
Indeed, the whole point (in my eyes) of emulating PS2 is that you can play it on higher resolutions.

crashing can be caused by a lot of things and I've never herd that enabling native option on gsdx would crash the emulator.
Since he has it running on a MAC there could be several other facctors causing the crash.
If its just KH that is crashing then it must definitely be wrong settings in the advanced settings or cpu settings or the speed hacks.
Sometimes using peops sound plugin can also crash the emulator.
It is recommended to use spu2x sound plugin.
I prefer the null plugin

I changed the configurations a bunch of times and finally got it to work. It's not crashing anymore, however, now it always freezes in the first part of the game where it's teaching you the controls. Also there's no sound and the graphics are kind of messed up.

You might have more luck in the mac section on the pcsx2 forums.
