Unhappy Legend of Dragoon saving point problem..

I could save my game at the beginning before I enter the forest, but how come whenever I save at the save point in helena prison, and then exit the game, then the next time I try to load the saved game.. it doesn't have the saved part at helena prison..just the saved beginning before I enter the forest. Why??

Version of the emulator? Tried with ePSXe v1.7.0?

Does the log-window shows anything weird about the memcards? (activate if disabled)

Does this happen whatever you use memcard 1 or 2 ?

Also check your mem card folder, and your memcards in bios.

I'm using 1.6.0 and have also tried 1.7.0.

When I started the game the log says:

I did copy the memcards from my other folder in ePSXe 1.5.2 and pasted it into the memcard folder in ePSXe 1.7.0, before I started playing Legend of Dragoon. Not sure if that has anything to do with this problem.

You have just to select them using the main GUI.

and you do file>exit afterwards right? if for some reason you dont then start doing so because using any other method can and usually will compromise both memory card and save state data.

Just closing the main ePSXe window (parent) will do. As long as you don't just close the emulation window by either the X, ALT+F4 or whatever... you're safe.

You can easly check that by using the Taskman and see if the ePSXe.exe process is still active after "exiting" it. If it is, then just finish the process.

@Pheonix: Your memcards might have become corrupted, read-only or simply unavailable by whatever reason.

First, try rebooting. If it doesn't work I suggest you backup your current memcards and create new ones. After that, use MemcardRex to copy the saves from the backup memcard to the newly created ones. Also, do check that when the new ones are created, there's no weird message from the log window as you currently have.

Creating new mem cards fixed the problem. Thanks!
