0.9.4 not using new BIOS spec?

I thought 0.9.4 was going to need the new .p2b bios format, but when I set the bios directory to where I keep my new .p2b dump it doesn't recognize it.

Is there a bug, or did I waste my time re-dumping?

While we are on the subject of BIOSes, whats the recommended BIOS to use?

With PSOne emulation the general consensus was to use SCPH-1001 bios. What is the one to use for PS2?

The best (and legally only) bios you should be using is the one you have dumped from your own Playstation 2 console.

There is no speed difference ,etc between versions (Other than the V1 of the jap bios have compat issues).

I also thought it might use new bios format. Oh...well, save it for next version.

I was able to load the p2b bios, however it crashes the emulator after run CD/DVD, try multiple options with different games. As refraction said before just extract the p2b bios, and copy those files into the pscx2 0.9.4 bios folder.

BTW: congrats on the release.

Have you tried setting the BIOS directory to the pcsx2 bios directory by going to Config > Configure > Set Bios Directory > pcsx2 > bios? And have you tried booting the .ELF file after setting the directory?

I got the same problem, I dumped the bios from my own console (scph-75007). Will the next version support the .p2b file? When I see only one file in my bios folder, that can be a pleasant thing.

God of War 2 will not work with pcsx2 anyway...haven't ever heard of any ps2 model that can't read dual layer disks...but in any case that has nothing to do with the bios rather than the PS2's dvdrom in which case it is emulated by your PC's dvdrom (or directly from iso) so if it can read dual layer discs so can the emulator
