Exclamation Permanent Cheats!?

For some reason when I put in a cheat to see wild pokemon in Pokemon Fire Red, when I turn off the cheat, that pokemon is the only one I see. The only way I am able to catch another pokemon is by entering another cheat for it. I really think this takes the challenge out of things, and want to know what I did wrong to make this happen. I DID enter the first code in the safari zone, maybe during a battle, I'm not sure. Is this the problem?

I think those cheats were rather moody in the GBA Pokemon games, as far as I remember after entering them, once they have had their desired effect, you must delete them and then make an INGAME save and reset your game and then load from that ingame save again and then turn your other codes back on or something like that. I used VBA though.

What exactly do you mean by "other codes"? Also, there's a "master code", do I need to use this?

I mean you were meant to turn your cheating device off on a real GBA, so you have to turn off any other codes you have activated in no$gba...I mean disable them (which was easy to do in VBA). The Master code was not required on VBA, but rather just activate it on no$gba just incase, this has nothing to do with that though.

Figured out how to solve the problem. What i needed to do was use the cheat, then save and reset the cartridge. If only I could get my save to work in VBA, I know it doesn't have that problem.

And what did you think I was saying? there was nothing to figure out...that's what I told you...and you are mistaken it is present on VBA aswell.

I thought you were just telling me to turn off the CHEATS, not the whole game. Sorry for misunderstanding. Though I wouldn't mind some help getting my save to work in VBA, if you're still willing.

I am not sure that's possible...at least I have never done it so I don't know nothing about it.

I will say again though that I had to follow the exact same procedure on VBA so it's not like switching will help you with regard to this. The problem lies with the game itself, this sort of cheat has a permanent effect on it, untill turned off and reset. The same happened with MMBN 4 or 5...can't remember which now.

I'm wanting to switch to VBA because of some graphical issues in No$GBA. So far I've set my save type to uncompressed in No$, and used the No$GBA to VBA converter program, but when I try and import the save in VBA, it comes up with the "1M Sub-Circuit board is not installed" error then starts a new game. On a side note, my save is 137KB, while the save type in both VBA and No$ are both set to Flash 128KB. What is the problem?
