My specs are as follows Mobo: Intel Battle Lake D915PBL (4PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, PCI-E x16,4 DDR2 DIMM) CPU : Intel Pentium 4 550, 3400 MHz aka 3.4GHz (17x200) RAM : 2048 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM) GFX : Nvidia Geforce 6600 512MB PCI-E HDD : Western Digital 250Gig HDD with about 24Gigs left DirectX: 9.0c I am running older games and am having problems. i read in other threads everything I have should work unless I missed something. Not TOTALLY work, but decently. I am trying to play Dora the Explorer and Smackdown, Bring the pain. If I get these to work, I'd like to get others. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Egads man! I knew I forgot something! The sound is lagging and the actual emulation is lagging about a couple frames too slow. Need a way to run a few frames faster and the sound to work right. The settings I have right now on the emulator are these: Graphics: ZeroGS kosmos .96.00 Sound: P.E.Op.S. SPU2 DSound Driver 1.6.0 Cdvdrom: Linuzappz Iso CDVD Driver .5.0 Dev9: DEV9null Driver .3.0

Thats actually not a problem, its more you have a fairly weak system, so the emulator is of course going to run slow. PCSX2 hates P4's as they just cant keep up with the cpu power needed. Sound is sketchy in most games as well. However you can try this and hope it works. http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...t-upgrade.html Other than that theres not much you can actually do. Does your P4 have 64bit extensions, if it does when the next release of pcsx2 is out, providing you have a 64bit OS you should notice speed improvements there, however as I said earlier P4's are weak. |

Wow. I didn't think my system was that weak. What needs to be stronger and do you have any suggestions? I have been thinking about upgrading anyway for some weird reason. BTW, I ran the game to where the demo of the game plays for smackdown: Bring the pain, and I was getting 3.0 fps. sucks.

Dual Core systems are the recommended (Core 2 Duo's are currently the best), if you want to play games with AA/BF graphics you also needs a high end graphics card (7900 or better, however I would suggest holding off until more DX10 cards are on the market and buy one of them). Some games like Resident Evil 4, Smackdown series and Tekken 4, etc require you have a high end graphics card (as compared to other games that are more cpu Dependant) as well as a high end CPU for high speeds. The PS2 is a complex system to emulate and a power CPU is needed to do it at enjoyable speeds. P4's are not only fairly old, they have horrible architecture (Which is the reason the Pentium D is so horrible as its based off them, where as the Core 2 Duo series is based of the PIII architecture). If you look in the pinned topic http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...-computer.html you will notice the P4 is listed as "Will work without compatability problems, but will run slowly", check this list for a idea of which components work best with PCSX2. Hopefully something in the above helped. |

I appreciate all your help. I'll probably put some money aside and wait till better stuff comes out, that way I can afford to get the good stuff and not the lower end good stuff : ). Take it easy!
