First post system specs.
As for some suggestions, try going to "options" then "emulator" then "save type". Then experiment with different options.

in this forum try searching for 64k to 128k, one member has already given his method of changing the save without restarting.

I started a new game & changed the save type(in VBA) .now it'z working quite well
(i'm able to save make battery saves, instead of relying on savestates) .first of all go to options >emulator >save type ,den changed my settings 2 automatic & Flash 128k..thanx alot ma frndz !
^i'd just like to point out that 90% of roms work fine on Automatic +Flash 64k, those that don't, is why the VBA-Over.ini settings override file was created.

As you would on a normal GBA. In other words load the game and then select continue from the main menu.
