EpsxE control problems

For a few of the isos i have ripped like ff7 and Castlevania SOTN I can't get past the menu screen. I can't use keyboard or joystick controls on these games

. Most of the games I play work perfectly and ive ripped these games several times to determine that they weren't bad rips. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I can't wait to get SOTN working.

Is it just parts of the controls that doesn't work, or does nothing work? you could try:
1. a different ISO ripper than the one you are using (btw. what ripping program are you using?)
2. Using digital/analog instead of digital only on the epsxe pad.
3. Try psxeven or other emulators instead.

I believe the problem is that controller 2 wont work on my emu. Games that enabled two players to play or the second controller to press start didn't work. I think there may be a stuck button that is causing it not to work. My other emulators work fine with the two controllers but epsxe does not. If I had 2 perfect controllers would that fix this? Had anyone used two controllers in epsxe?

try using a different emulator (PSXeven, SSSPSX, PCSX) with a pad plugin (nrage's, harakiri's, ssspsx pad)
