i just want to know something

i heard it is possible to upgrade or replace the SH4 Processor in the Dreamcast with something like a Pentium...i know it sounds crazy, but.......its been said that u take off the original processor but leaving the Pins on the board obviously, and then with the Pentium CPU, u connect the 4 corners with the corners on the Motherboard with very small wires (not sures which ones) and from that, u have to do something with u BIOS of the DC and u add them (something like that). Can anyone tell me if that is true or if something is wrong on wat i said or can anything like this be done at all???

I heard that rumour 6 years ago when i was 14,but i would have to say its not true, because the architecture of an x86 and a hitachi sh4 are completely different, the rumour appeared (i hypothesize) because, A.dreamcast had some limited windows ce libraries on some GD-roms, eg resident evil 2,3, and B. because a few tablet pcs appeared with windows ce and a hitachi sh4 (running at 300mhz i belive), making some people think that the sh4 was similiar to x86. Someone please prove me wrong.

get a big fan (for your dreamcast) and let it rip, should help the DC run bit longer bit faster

You could try asking over at http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/index.php which is the dcemulation forums. There are guys who overclocked their DC succesful to 280 mHz IIRC. They are able to help you out I think.

Edit:

found another link you should really check out:

I don't know about that, sorry
Just some friendly advice: Use the 'edit' button next time, a double post such as this one is not needed in this case

IF no one else here is able to help out I still recommend going to dcemulation's forums and ask the same question over there. There are alot more modders and ppl that have great knowledge about the DC than over here I think.

Good luck.
