Gravis E.A. in ePSXe

Does anyone use a Gravis Eliminator Aftershock with ePSXe? The controls are sluggish kinda like there is a big null zone. tried to use the gravis control panel but it doesnt seem to make a difference just wondering if anybody else has the same problem. Or do I need a different plugin just using the defalt one.
