DirectX errors

My problem is that certain programs that require versions of DirectX older than the current version refuse to work. They say that the appropriate version is not installed. Among them include 3dmark99max (dx6) and 3dmark2001 (dx8). Funny thing is, 3dmark2000 (dx7) works just fine. Can anybody solve this problem?

And yes, I do have all the latest updates for WinXP.

I believe the latest patch for 3DMark 2001 fixes the DX9 problem. Try reinstalling the patch and if that doesn't work, reinstall 3DMark then install the patch. As for 3DMark99, I don't know. I haven't used it before.

Dont think you'll get 3dmark99max to work but I downloaded 3dmark2001 the otherday and it worked fine with dx9.0b, I got 13'000 on my G4 ti200 ordered a Radeon 9800 pro as well the otherday but its out of stock but I got it for a great price, I hope it turns up soon so I can see how many points I'll get with it..

Funny, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 needs DX6, and it works just fine, yet 3dmark99 also needs it and it doesn't work at all. Weird.
