Goldeneye in general is pretty darn slow. You probably need a few hundred mrz more (2.2 maybe) to make it run well. Though, since Goldeneye in general on the N64 didn't have that high of a framerate (espically with lots happening), don't expect Goldeneye to have any higher of a framerate on the emulator than the regular N64. It never really looks like it's all that fast.

Modem1, you can see my system specs (my sig) and GoldenEye runs amazing on my machine...much smoother than te N64, and i'm not using the game speed button/frameskip etc..

The only problem is in Multiplayer, where the individual screens are screwed up, but otherwise it runs silky smooth.

Sorry to creep in here, but have you selected 'Force Depth Compare' in the Advanced tab of Jabo's plugin? 'Tis a known issue about the multiplayer screens messing up a bit without it!

To the main problem of the thread, indeed Jabo's is the best to use in terms of speed, or if you are feeling adventurous you can try Rice's Daedalus 5.2.0 if the sky in Jabo's bothers you.

The key here has already been mentioned - use 1964's internal frameskip, it really works wonders. I wouldn't touch the auto-CF with a P4 1.8GHz tho', could cause timing problems, and the speed of the processor is sufficient for just frameskip alone.

hmm...try setting the CF to 1? I get good speeds when it's set to 1. However that could've been the default, I cant remember...

Set the CF to 3, it defaults to 1. The default of one is very smooth but more system intensive, CF2 is very fast, CF3 is slightly jerky but uses a lot less processor than CF1.
