ePSXe under Linux FF8 and Peops 1.15 (missing battle menus)

In both ePSXe 1.50 and 1.60 for Linux I get this problem with Peops 1.15 does anyone have any suggestions or.. how many actually RUN linux? (hehehe).

There are no specific settings I can find it Peops (obviously) for FF8 but I remember this being a problem in plugins before, it doesn't happen on me windows box (but can't run any CDROM game currently under windows for some reason).

Suggestions?

which version of PEOPS are you running, the SDL or the SoftX one? I'm not sure if the 2 are different in compatability, but the SDL one is the most stable.

If there is still a problem while using the SDL plugin, download an update for the SDL library here: http://www.libsdl.org/index.php

I run Linux, FF8 with Pete's OGL worked fine. Why don't you use it.

The SDL version is more stable? That's a new one to me (and I cannot see any reason for it).

Anyway, the SDL version is for FPSE Linux only, it will not work in ePSXe or PCSX.

The real reason for the missing FF8 (or FF7) battle menus is described in the plugin docs: both games hate frame skipping. Turn it off, and the menus are visible.
