Loading vba saves from windows on vba for mac problem
Hi, I've searched and searched for an answer for this and couldn't find anything, I apologize if this is a simple problem to solve. I'm using the mac boy advance version of vba on my mac to play pokemon (The other mac versions are powerpc so won't run), then I transfer the .sav files to my windows computer, use vba link (version 1.8) to trade pokemon, which saves as .sa1,.sa2... I then want to transfer these saves back to my mac, so I have just tried renaming the files .sav instead of .sa1 (Pokemon Emerald.sav), but they are not recognized when I open the rom of the same name (Pokemon Emerald.GBA). There is no import battery file option available on this version of the vba, so I don't know how I can load these .sav files. It would be great if someone could help me out with this? |

There's a possibility that VBALink's a higher version. As a rule of thumb, higher versions (almost) always can read saves mde by lesser ones, but it doesn't work nearly that well in the other direction, especially if it's a jump by 0.1. You could either try VBALink 1.7.2 or find a newer version of MBA.

Thanks a million! I made another .sav from the vbalink 1.8 , loaded it in the 1.7.2 version, transferred it to the mac and then loaded it in the macboy advance (version 1.7.6), worked perfectly, thanks again!
