Strange black lines.

I have SVN926, the game I'm playing is Fire Emblem: Fuuin No Tsurugi, and I get these strange flickering black lines in most text boxes(Usually when they're on the top of the screen). I tried running the game in VBA 1.8 Beta3 and I don't get this issue. Any idea what is causing this?
