Yeah, I know it's been a long time, but I've been occupied by my son (almost 2 years old now--yikes!) and my full time job. Now, we're selling our house and preparing to move to parts unknown at this point, so it may be a little time before the next update though if you're following the CVS you may see some interesting things in there soon (that is, if the project still hasn't been converted to subversion by then
). I'm hoping that it will all be worth the wait for y'all.

Hi Shamus,
I'm putting together a website about the Konix Multisystem. I've already interviewed several key people such as Wyn Holloway of Konix, Martin Brennan of Flare (One of the creators of the Jaguar) and Jon Dean of Konix. I've also talked to some of the guys from Attention to detail who wrote Cybermorph. There's a movement at the moment that's trying to gather as much info and get hold of things like source code, compiled binaries, full games and actual hardware (Devkits, as prototypes will be near impossible to find) for this unreleased machine which was effectively the father of the Jaguar. I have the technical reference document for the machine available here: http://www.konixmultisystem.co.uk/testing/SRG.pdf (it's 25Mb) As time goes by, we're going to get closer to having code to try to do something with. Basically what I'm getting at is do you guys feel it's worth your effort taking a look at what can be done to add this machine to your existing emulation work? The ASIC was used in a video one arm bandit machine and I do have a romset for that and I have promises from a few developers who wrote games for the machine that they will try to dig out their code. If nothing else, it's going to be interesting for you guys to see where the Jaguar came from and how it evolved from it's humble Z80 beginnings. Thanks, Mark. |
