Unhappy Absence (explaining and future)

Hello everyone,

since I didn't reply on certain messages are was able to reply on e-mail I'm posting this message on the forum so that everybody can read this.

First, I would like to say that Shamus has done a very good job on the VJ project during my absence and the CVS builds is a very good idea (makes beta testing somewhat simplier). Keep up the good work and get those messages about beta's comming

Well, everyone knows that my replying or online commitment was a bit slow lately and I want to explain this to the people (Shamus and Caz allready know this). I wasn't able to contribute or develop since september because of a very small problem, namely no time. Currently I'm working about 40 hours per week and I'm finishing up my college degree (Bachelor) and this is the main problem. To get my degree I have to do a project over a 6 month period with a minimum of 32 hours per week. Now, this is a small problem since I can't do anything during work hours and I have to do everything in my spare time. Because of this my time is *very* limited and I need the rest of spare time to keep up family and friends relations and I use it to get some rest since I'm very tired because of my 72 hours of workload from monday till saturday. In other words, atm I have major motivation problems concerning development and sdlemu

Like I said the project takes up all my spare time for a periode of 6 months and this will continue till end of February. Since I need some more time to rest and keep things a bit slow it's my planning that from March I'm able to contribute to sdlemu projects and get all things that are on my TODO list done. It's not my intention to stop with sdlemu at this moment, I just don't have the motivation to use my spare time on sdlemu since I want to use that time to relax and make sure I won't break down or something.

I hope you can understand my situation and I will make a reaperance soon. And hopefully I have my degree so that I'm not bugged anymore with college

Regards,

Niels Wagenaar

Perfectly understandable. We should not have to bug you, hell you are the one making it.

What you're doing now is slightly more important than SDLEmu, I'd say. Keep up the hard work, and before you know it you'll be done with college--that is, unless you're planning on going for your masters degree!
