I'm sure that this is all old hat here, but I've never actually successfully gotten Satourne to run on my computer. The closest I've come is with the new version that just came out, but I get the following messages when I first start the program:
Loading Configuration Saturn bios loaded No STV bios loaded, invalid path <-- don't need to play these SH2 interpreter dubugger plugin: initialisation OK! VDP OpenGL plugin: initialisation OK! VDP1 core v1.1 VDP2 core v1.2 SMPC plugin: initialisation OK! ASPI CD block plugin v1.0B: initialisation OK! SCU plugin: initialisation OK! SCSP musashi a68k plugin: initialisation OK! Mode: Saturn Can't initialise emulation: Saturn reset Initialisation done Can't initialise emulation: ClockChange 320 requested I am running on WinXP in Win95 compatibility mode and using all of the new included plugins but without any luck. I have no idea what the error message I receive means either. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Re: Satourne Difficulties
Make sure you select the game you're gonna play through the CD block configuration, then manually set the game's country code under the SMPC config.
that's what I've gotta do to mine :/ |

Re: Satourne Difficulties
Okay, so that was part of the problem, and part of it was me thinking that "reset" would automatically mean "run." Now, I'm finding out what I should have known already from here, that my games can't run from their CD originals... I've made an iso of Dragon Force, but I'm not sure about the nuances of making cue files and the other assorted things I need to put on an iso CD. Can anyone point me to a good site or post?
Ironically, I'm in the position of having lots of original Saturn games but can't emulate them on my computer, it's usually the other way around...

select an ST-V bios: no matter what.
Try selecting the normal saturn bios.

I had to post in this thread since I've got the same problem. I've got STV Bios, I've been trying to match up the US Bios--> US Settings in SMPC Config, as well as Jap Bios-->Jap Region, and Euro Bios-->Euro Region,
No matter what I do it just says "ClockChange 320 Requested" It's getting really frustrating. Everything else has loaded properly.

Wow, way to revive a thread that's over 2 years old. Next time, check the date of the last post before you reply.

If you want to play STV games, then you should really use MAME. STV emulation in MAME has improved leaps and bounds over the past 3 years. Games such as Radiant Silvergun are fully playable with good speed, and nearly perfect graphics.
Also you won't have to bang your head on the wall tweaking settings.

bah dont get depressed by something like that, its just a statement of a user who doesn'T know what effort u put into this.
Of course i know doesn't meant it that way but people tend to forget this really fast so here i sum up: * Emu Coding is hard , (boring?) work, the Coder does NOT get paid for it * high skills are necessary like : Reverse Engenering unkown Hardware Plattforms ( Console to be Emualted) , Coding a Framework for Emulation this Hardware, Code Audio - Video Interfaces towards PC - Hardware & OS. so -_- This is extremely hard to do and as u might think progress is rather slow as most emu authors seem to work alone. Slappy Comments like the one two above. Don't help much . ( Although i think comments like: go for it!! yeah do it! U can Do it! WOOHA i LIKE THIS! ... either help much but thats personal taste ![]() wbr Shin Gouki |

@Shin_Gouki : thanks for your words, but Satourne isn't my work But I think that every emu coder should be shown support, no matter what is the emulated system or the progress made ... personnally I don't care if people doesn't like my work, as I do it for myself in the first place, but being supportive is pleasant anyway ![]() And liquid is right about ST-V support in SSF
