Is this the offical Sega Emulator ( Based on Giri Giri ? )

Heres the story.

Basically, I got a few Saturn discs at home that i wanted to try and emulate. I went to ngemu downloads page and downloaded Satourne and Saturine , but I failed to set them up well. So i decided to look for another emu, so I choose to get the discontinued Giri Giri emu. I tried to download the file, but I got an error message, so i decided to head to their page, http://girigiri.netjunkiez.org/ , to find that it was moved to another location, http://cyberdisc.zaq.ne.jp/.

Very well, i went to that site and I was suprised to see a number of screenshots of many games. Since the site was in Japanese, I couldnt confirm it, however, I noticed that there is a 2.2 MB file " or software " as the translator says, which could be downloaded to the games running. i did get the file, but it refused to install on my system because I dont have a Japanese OS. here are some screenshots to back up what i said

Anyways, can someone with some japanese knowledge confirm it please?

Your correct. The girigiri emulator went commercial. To install the software you will need to install japanese language settings with winxp. Then it will install, but getting it to work may be hard since the emulator is in Japanese. It's actually a very advanced version of girigiri and runs a lot of games with very little sound/video bugs. You can also rent the games for about $2 from that cyberdisk site which is actually a SEGA project.

So there is no way for me to get it working unless I get a japanese OS and subscribe with their service?,..ah well, thanks for your reply , fivefeet8

i think you can install the language on your OS...IIRC

Yes, you can install the software if you install Japanese language settings from the winxp cd.

Well i already install the japanese language and it still refuses to run, i think it really is for japanese os only....unless i'm doing something wrong?

Yeah, I also installed the japanese language on my system and its not running. The install sheild setup runs for a while before it crashs on my system

You might need to se Microsoft's Applocale utility to fool the app.

Strange. I installed it fine by installing Japanese language fonts. Then after the install, I reverted back to US fonts. You guys probably didn't set your Regional Language settings to japan.

It worked fine for me (well, as far as the language thing goes). All I had to do was tick the option to install Asian languages (which I'd already done when I installed Windows XP so I didn't need to put the CD) and then change the Non-Unicode programs region to Japan. I didn't have to fiddle with the System Locale.

The Non-unicode thing can mess up other stuff and as you have to reboot to change it.....
hence the Applocale app

is there any other app just like applocale? i'm runnink 2k here and it demands xp or 2003 which either i certainly do NOT! want to install since applocale would be the only advantage...
