Japanese region, not bios. The bios has no protection like for the Sega CD, so any bios will work with any game.

Tried on SSF 0.07 beta R8 - same effect. Works fine on R5 though :D - click. Notice that the logo looks much better on R8 (I used same screen options in R5 and R8 - scanlines off, auto field skip on, vsynch off, dd on). I wonder what Shima broke that Castlevania doesn't work in new releases of SSF... |

To do that, press and hold A (on the Saturn - its mapped to "y" by default) while the Saturn boot screen comes up. Move the cursor to System Settings (the arrow pointing up, in the top row), select "Memory Manager", "Clear" and "Yes". Or just enable "Hook Backup Library" in the emulator (Program3 tab) for infinite save space, without the need to format the backup ram... The reason why this happens, is that older versions of the emulator came with preformatted backup memory files (InternalBackupRAM.bin and ExternalBackupRAM.bin). But from 0.07 Beta R6 and upwards, these were dropped from the emulators zipfile. SSF can just generate these files so its unnecessary to include them with the emulator. The generated files, however, only have empty 00s inside, so they need to be formatted by clearing the backup RAM manually inside the BIOS. |
