Giri Giri Project redux; available outside of Japan?

This is kinda old news, but some time ago last month Sega of Japan announced their official emulator for running Sega Saturn games downloadable through an online service.

The interesting thing is that the emulator is none other than the Giri Giri Project, only that now their old site will no longer update and points viewers to the page of their commercial emu.

Some people have reported trying hacked/pirate versions of the emu, saying that gameplay wise it has good speed and graphics, but sound/music is severely screwed in some games. I don't know if the hacking/cracking damaged the emu, or if the emu has updated (haven't checked), but has anyone had a chance to try it out recently? And has anyone outside of Asia tried ordering it from Sega?

Well. tons of people using the "HACK" version some where in Asia right now. From what I heard, it does run many commerical games in playable speed(with sound). Shining Force 3(J), Castlevania, Princess Crown, Dragon Crown, Night...etc work great.

GiriGiri is neat but I hope Satourne will be better since to let u use CDR I guess and I know that hacked was not allowed here. I played more than 4 games on this GiriGiri and its playable perfectly and neatly done in Window XP but you must use iso..not CDR on CDROM because only in WIN98 and I tried that too..not seem to work or maybe I am doing wrong so I use XP with iso for it and perfectly done.

I make a compabilities list to check sega saturn games I dled from to test to see which is working..so far 4 games are working fine. More to come soon unless I will be here again

Nope.. The text is also a little messed up in the US version as well.. But they are readable so it's not a big deal..

And remember if you need to get to the Saturn's setting panel, just hold down A+B+C+Start while in a game and you can get there with GiriGiri, which is handy if you want to cheat on Christmas Nights.
I'll have to scour eBay now for Senario 2 and 3 of Shining Force 3, I know a little Japanese (veeerrrrryyyy Little) so the language shouldn't be a problem.

use forceaspi? that's a tool that enables ASPI support in winxp, which 98 has by default...that should fix it.

That won't work. From what I've heard, the hacked version of Giri Giri, illegaly avaliable will not support running CDs in XP. As such, as it's only really avaliable hacked..... Closed.

...not to mention he just downloaded the games anyway, and I don't think it came from Sega.
