Question Any Saturn emulators for DC?

I'm not sure which forum this fits in, but probably this is the best one to put it in. Anyone know of any author that plans to create a Saturn emulator for the Dreamcast, or to port a currently existing one (with its source code) to the Dreamcast? Just a thought...

I'd rather they develop a reliable PC version first than a console port.

Yeah, considering Saturn emulation on the PC is still not really viable, the chances of the existence of a DC one are slim to nil.
Add to that the fact that the Saturn requires far more CPU time to emulate than the PSX in a single CPU system (The Saturn is a massively parrallel machine), and the future looks grim fo such a project.

Its powerfull enough to emulate the psx so IMO its powerful enough to play the saturn games.

*buzzez* wrong.
Read my earlier post. The PSX is effectively a single CPU machine, like the DC. The Saturn is a massively parrallel machine. This produces a lot higher emulation overhead. The DC can't have a saturn emu.

Maybe it is possible on DC.. maybe.. SH4 is backwards compatible with both SH2 and SH1 (which the Saturn has 2 of and 1 of respectively) and many games didn't actually make use of anything more than one SH2, apparently. I don't know how feasible it is to emulate several CPUs on one compatible CPU that's much faster, I haven't really heard of any projects doing this. But it might be feasible. As for the other stuff, I think you can pass a lot of it off to the PowerVR2.. I don't know about the geometry; you might have to do it in the SH4, with the few cycles you have left...
