XP doesn't have any service packs available (yet), although there are some critical updates available which every XP user should download immediately (that whole security hole thing). Try running the emulators in a different compatibility layer. Maybe that'll help

If you have enough hard disk space, you should have both XP and 98 installed to different partitions... That ensures that you can even play old dos games and same time the newest ones...
