It should be doable in DirectSound for a output device: I know personally libao and the plain winmm based playback driver works great with it, as well as SDL. So audio API shouldn't be a issue.
Nice request

iīll check it out to see how it works and how i can implement those libraries to @ES.... the C++ port is in very early stages.. but the coverflow menu is ready and works alot better as i use Direct3D and openGL for the OSX port intead of GDI+.

am also researching/refreshing my assembly/emulation knowledges as am planning to do more stuff in that area and include them to @ES....

Some things I'm Missing!

I like @ES, and I want use it as my only interface when it is done. I'll be able to end the icons mess. So... Here are some sugestions:

1) I didn't do it yet but, if I reinstall windows will @es lose its configuration settings, I mean, will forget folder adresses ans stuff? I don't want settings stored on my registry! I don't want to reconfigure it every time.

2) Support for a PC-Engine emulator;

3) Alt+F4 support;

4) Right click with options like minimize and close in the taskbar;

5) Support for a Virtual Boy emulator;

6) Support for DS emulators! (I can't believe you didn't thought about it yet!)

7) A software, some kind of "skinmaker", where you put your images and it is done! Integrated with @es would be much better.

I hope you consider some of my ideas.
Thanks!

A: @ES doesnīt use the registry... i hate to use it so it keep your settings even if you reinstall your windows.

2) Support for a PC-Engine emulator;

A: Will check it out today.

3) Alt+F4 support;

A: Didnīt thought on that.. will be added in the upcomming build

4) Right click with options like minimize and close in the taskbar;

A: Thatīs something i was thinking in the last days.

5) Support for a Virtual Boy emulator;

A: Will check that too today(i donīt use Virtual Boy emus)

6) Support for DS emulators! (I can't believe you didn't thought about it yet!)

A: DS emu support was one of the things we wanted to add since the beginning but since i have to render two screens is quite hard to do atm... and am not sure if it will be possible in the near future... but am on it

7) A software, some kind of "skinmaker", where you put your images and it is done! Integrated with @es would be much better.

A: I will create a skin/animation maker at a later time

hope iīve answered all your question... if not just ask

Since this is more of a missing feature than a bug, support for different languages than english when playing audio files rather than showing gibberish would be welcome. Also more buttons instead of keyboard shortcuts for some basic functions like closing the program, switching to full screen etc.

So far @ES looks great.

Suggestions, On 1920x1080 the screen size of @ES is far too small, any possiblities of having zoom?
Mednafen support would be great (PCE, PCE-CD, PC-FX, Wonderswan)

Keep up the great work!

When the new C# build comes out it will support any emulator as the rendering method is much different from the current release

better use font textures than win32 font rendering, and also add some cool effects like those in the PSP interface

I was just wondering if you'd be willing to add Gens+ (Currently Ver. 0.0.9.61) to the list of usable Sega emulators. My problem with Fusion is that the only frame skip option I can find is fast forward which sets the frame rate to 999fps. Being able to adjust framerate is a very important feature for me, particularly when playing RPG's where a reasanable framerate for gameplay is 170fps and not 60 or 999. Gens+ also plays SMS, GG, Genesis, 32X And Sega CD Games and so far I have had no trouble.
Note that Gens32 and Gens32 Surreal don't play SMS and GG games which is why I didn't mention them.

i havenīt tested Gens since months now... actually Gens was the first emu supported for Genesis games but the reason why i added fusion instead is because older versions(donīt know new ones) tend to change the color from 32bit to 16bit which causes problems to my GDI+ rendering method which is the one that handles @ES skin, covers, icons etc.

anyways iīll test the new one and see if it has changed now.. and if thatīs the case iīll add Gens instead

@ES & resources?

Hey I have a question @ruantec, will @ES be light on resources? I would like to use you app on a win xp p3 1000mghz with not that much sdram. I call this box the cottage computer and would like to be able to use you app for all my emu needs as well as dvd/divx pleasure. I may change the cottage comp to a p4 but it would be great if your app would run on that reasonably well. If I can help make that happen in any way or you would like more details on the box let me know.

Maybe you could let me know the min/ planned requirements as you know of them thus far as well?

Thanks for reading this anyways.

game image

I just thought of a possibly interesting feature, although it may be a pain in the neck to implement. You can already add an image to the game in the game list but what if you could add the front cover and the back cover and flip between them so that you can see both whenever you want. Not very useful (at all) but hey.
