Unhappy Major Problem.

Ok, I have used Emulators before (used to be ePSXe), but I haven't used them in a while. I set up PSXeven, loaded my iso (not running from a CD), and the screen popped up. Black. Never changed. It did that for ePSXe, which is why i tried this one. Whatever it is, I have a feeling it's not the emulator, but something I'm doing. I have peteGL2 running for plugin, scph1001.bin for bios, I've tweaked the setting any way I can think of, but there must be something I'm missing.

Any ideas?

[Edit: I downloaded Daemon Tools, Mounted an iso, and configured PSXeven to read from the new drive and hit RUN CD. It no longer gives me the black screen. It plays the Playstation intro and then sits there. It doesn't run the game for some reason. Help me, please? THis is driving me insane, I've been working at this for 3 hours.]

Im new to the psx emulator scene but i found that simply testing and trying different video plugins and settings works best if there is no documentation as to correctly configure the certain game

Good luck!

Have a look at this. There are lots of things to do.

Failing that, post your computer specs.

nVidia GeForce FX5200

...I can't think of anything to post that might be relevant.

this is an img file that I had copied from an old Rayman game I had. The cd has since gone missing, but the game was in perfect working order when I made the img file.

But this is maybe not the case of the image file....Does it work with epsxe when you mount the image with daemon's tool ? If no, do you have errors on the dos windows?

What drivers are you using for your graphics card?

Have you tried other emulators, including ePSXe, SSSPSX, PCSX and pSX?

The only problem with daemon's tool is that I can't mount an img file. I can mount an ISO, but that's not what format I have it in, and I don't have any ISO-IMG conversion software. Well, I do, but they're trial and they all have a 300 meg file limit.

The driver is 9.1.4.7, a very recent driver.

And yes I have tried ePSXe. Neither that nor PSXeven is working.
