use ePSXe 1.5.2. stop running tons of programs in the background. make an ISO. use Lord Kane's settings. upgrade your drivers. use the internal Plugin for audio. use an autoconfiguring CDR plugin if you are going to use a CD (i.e Sapu's).

it's alright. ePSXe is better at a few things, like dual analog pads, GT2 fixes (well those are the biggest improvements for me) but it has known problems with FF9 and a few others.
