Here are screenshots for the first Advanced V.G. game on the Playstation.

I had to use Connectix VGS for the ingame shots because ePSXe had a specOp unknown error and would crash while loading a battle.

I was able to get Advance V.G. 2 running in ePSXe.

What are your plugings and settings?
